Is virginity still important these days?

Q.
I will only ask questions. Is virginity still important these days? Is male virginity as important as female virginity? Do girls like to be with male virgins? Do males still target female virgins?
A.

Hi there. Thanks for your questions. It sounds as though you have put a lot of thought into this and want to know what people still value.

There used to be a time when most people would stay virgins until they were married. This was often for religious reasons but also for the sense that you saved yourself (your virginity) for someone special.

Today, some people still choose to stay virgins until they are married, or until they have been in a serious relationship for a number of months or years.

Everybody is different when it comes to their opinions and morals on losing their virginity. Most people want it to be a special and memorable moment and this is the most important thing. No one should never feel pressured into having sex and should only consider losing their virginity when they are ready and have accepted the responsibilities that often come with being in a sexual relationship, such as pregnancy and sexually transmissible infections (STIs).

There should be no difference between male and female virginity. However, unfortunately sometimes society rates female virginity as being more important than male virginity. This can be particularly true in some cultures, where a man will only marry a virgin woman, but may have had several sexual partners before her.

Both sexes should value their virginity as it is a part of who they are and how they feel. Losing your virginity is giving away a part of yourself. It makes sense to want to give it to someone special who respects you and preferably likes or even loves you.

As I mentioned earlier, people have different thoughts about virginity. While some women may want to be with men who are virgins, and feel as though he has saved himself for her, others may like to be with a men who have had some experience and can guide them through losing their virginity.

Hopefully this has answered your questions and gives you some things to think about. You should only lose your virginity when you are ready and when you are not feeling pressured by anyone. After all, you can only lose it once, so make it special.
