I am always comparing myself to other girls i see.
I'm 14 and weigh about 6k kilos and i am always comparing myself to other girls i see. I'm self-conscious to wear bathers and i don't even want to let a guy i like see me because i'm worried he will judge me for how i look and not like me.
I usually run about 2 km every day but i haven't lost any weight and i try to eat healthy, but i always binge. I'm also a vegetarian, and also very short for my age.
Hi there and thanks for writing in. You sound like you are worried about how you look and this is creating feelings of self-conscious.
We often compare ourselves with other people, and the media influences us to look a certain way and wear certain clothes. Companies are often just trying to sell products though and don't always think about the consequences of the images they put out.
But, here's the good news: what is way more important that what we look like is who we are on the inside! Remember that no 2 people are ever the same, so comparing yourself to other girls isn't very helpful because you're unique.
You said that this guy might judge you because of what you wear. If someone judges you because of how you look then they are not a good friend. I bet you don't judge other people or not be a friend them because of how they look.
Eating healthily is a good place to start to look after your health. If you have the urge to binge eat, try to have some healthy snacks on hand, like fruit, low fat yoghurt or plain nuts. You could ask yourself, am I really hungry? Is there something I can do to distract myself right now (like go for a walk or contact a friend)?
I've given you some articles below that you might like to read. Try to be kind to yourself, and take care.
