Sorry, but I have no idea what the USA in general, or your area in particular, says about legality of caffeine pills. However, I do know that, even though it isn't illegal in most places, in most you have to ask a chemist for it...it isn't just available from a display counter like it was a few years ago. That is because of the number of cases of abuse that were coming to the attention of doctors and hospitals.

To get a good kick from caffeine, most people need only drink a 6-ounce cup of coffee, about 100 milligrams. An "energy" drink is similar, and so is a single No-Doz type tablet. Long-distance drivers have use it to stay awake...that has been banned - too many hallucinations and accidents!

With about 30 percent of teenagers being into energy drinks like Red Bull and V, it's starting to be a big problem at medical centres. Caffeine as a potent drug that effects you heart, blood pressure and circulation and has a big impact on your hormones. It makes you anxious, jittery and creates the fight-or-flight response. When the heart beats too fast, bad things happen. A study in the States found more than 250 cases of medical complications from taking caffeine and 30 of those had to be put in hospital including 2 in intensive-care.
