I'm really short. Should I tell them to stop even though it might 'ruin the mood' or give me a bad impression?
I'm really short, even for an Asian, which means that people do, and will probably continue teasing me and just y'know making a whole lot of fun about it. Uhm, if they were being mean about it, I'd tell them off, but I'm quite sure I'll get people who are just teasing me about it. Sure, it's not exactly great to hear you're short, but I know they're just teasing and y'know don't really mean any harm.
I don't want to be a spoil sport, so I was wondering, what could I do? Should I tell them to stop even though it might 'ruin the mood' or give me a bad impression, or could I do something else like, think of a good comeback? If that's the case, any ideas?
Hi. It's impressive that you are not taking the teasing personally. It sounds like you are a positive person.
Unfortunately we can't change what people to say to us. Even though the teasing may be harmless, it's not good that people think they can tease others.
You shouldn't have to put up with the comments. I wonder if you could confuse them by saying something like "Am I really short? I didn't know that! Thanks for telling me." or something along those lines. Humour can confuse the teasers and stop the teasing.
It's important to keep believing in yourself. Have a look at the links below to read more. Take care.
